Since January 2012, final-year students in the Materials department have been part of an educational experience: the Marseille Winter School. The twelfth edition will take place from January 22 to 25, 2024.
The Winter School is a one-week school comprising around 30 hours of English courses at Master's level. The courses are taught by renowned professors from the University of Texas (USA), Queen Mary University of London, Georgetown University in Washington DC, and other prestigious institutions. You can consult the week's program to find out more about the guest lecturers.
This event is much more than just a meeting. It's a major educational opportunity specially designed for Polytech and Aix-Marseille University students, by professors who have historically had a strong presence at universities on the U.S. East Coast. Over the years, this winter school has evolved. Students now play an active role, presenting a significant portion of their work from previous semesters.
In the program, we offer a series of very interesting lectures given by first-class scientists covering different aspects of materials science and engineering applied to complex materials with applications in energy and the environment. This year's theme is Urban Physics and Urban Materials.
MWS2024 will be held at Polytech campus Luminy, in rooms D003 and D001, and will bring together between 50 and 60 participants, including around 35 final-year students from the Materials department.
